Shiva is known for his dual nature, embodying both ascetic and householder aspects, and is often depicted with a third eye, symbolizing wisdom and insight. His consort is Parvati, and he is associated with various forms, including Kali and Durga. Shiva is also recognized as the destroyer in the Hindu triumvirate, one of three Supreme Beings which includes Brahma (the creator) and Vishnu (the preserver).
