Arianrhod The Celtic Goddess Of Fate

Arianrhod is the Welsh Goddess of the Moon and the Stars, she is associated with fertility, rebirth, and the weaving of cosmic fate. She is one of the daughters of Don, the Welsh counterpart of the Irish mother goddess Danu, often represented by an ever-turning silver wheel, a symbol that represents her ability to weave fate and the passing of time. She is most famous for accidentally giving birth to the Welsh hero Lleu Llaw Gyffes, the Welsh equivalent of the Irish Lugh and the Gaulish Lugus. Arianrhod gave birth to a blob during a test of virginity conducted by her uncle Math fab Mathonwy, her brother Gwydion took the blob and raised him, soon the blob grew into a boy and Gwydion took him to see his mother Arianrhod at her home. Arianrhod was ashamed by the boy due to the circumstances of his birth and thus cursed him a total of 3 times throughout each stage of his life, however, the curses were ultimately dispelled by the efforts of Gwydion and the boy, and the boy earned his name Lleu Llaw Gyffes from Arianrhod and a wife Blodeuwedd from Gwydion and Math.
