Description

Scorpio 24 October – 22 November. The scorpion is one of the most intense sign of the zodiac. It's the sign of sex, and also of death.  Scorpios have a fascination with the vivid things in life.  They are engaged by relationships and life crises.  They are not just observers, though.  They often respond with penetrating observations that can be helpful for others.  Scorpios are curious by nature, and love to probe.  This makes them excellent scientists, detectives, journalists, and even psychics.  Scorpios can be strong-willed, even to the point of stubbornness. Like the archetypal scorpion, they might even sting themselves, rather than be defeated by life's situations.  They can be tenacious, even holding on to things, jobs, and relationships long after they have stopped being fun. 

Gemini 22 May – 21 June. Gemini is the sign of the twins.  They are known for how quick they are to change their minds.  But, to balance this unfortunate trait, they are gifted with the ability to see the many sides of any issue.  This creates another trait in them; their love of diversity.  Gemini's often have a wide range of interests. They can spread themselves too thin in life, if they're not careful.  Their projects can sometimes come to nothing as they move from one interest to another.  If they learn a bit of self-discipline, they can accomplish wonders during their lives. Pisces 20 February – 20 March. Pisces is represented by two fish, swimming in opposite directions.  The two are inner and outer, world and spirit, mind and matter.  Fish live in the water, out of reach of the rest of the world, and Pisceans show this trait.  They have a rich inner life that few but other Pisceans understand.  Pisces are also constantly changing.  They swim both with and against the flow.  They like to explore things in life for how they feel.  A Pisces is more likely to focus on something simple that stirs a subtle feeling than to choose something flashy that evokes a more emphatic feeling.

Aquarius 21 January – 19 February. Aquarius is the water-bearer.  It pours water out into the world in the form of new ideas, enthusiasm for social change,  and a desire to make things fresh and wholesome. Aquarians can be impatient with those who don't share their views.  Aquarians may have to wait for their vision, but when it appears, they follow it with determination.   Although they are very concerned with the world, Aquarians also have a rich inner life, including aspirations they don't share with others. They are eager to express themselves to others, but without some inner work, Aquarians are likely to be less willing to hear other's views.  Aquarians like to see the larger picture, and are easily bored with details.  Their broader view lets them see how they can change their world, but their rebelliousness usually needs to be tempered.

Virgo 24 August – 23 September. Virgo is the sign of the virgin.  Like the virgins of ancient times, who had no children with which to claim respect in the eyes of their people, Virgos are shy, and can even be a bit withdrawn.  The image of the virgin is that of a young girl.  Virgos have a sense of youth about their minds, well into old age.  They also have the eyes of a child, seeing things as if new long after others have lost interest.  Virgos tend to be intelligent.  They have a great sense of organization, and can spot details that others miss.  Although Virgos might not make the best leaders at times, their advice and counsel is just the kind that a wise leader needs.  So, unless they choose to express themselves in their families, Virgos can rise quite high in this world.

Taurus 21 April – 21 May. Taurus is a very physical sign, the sign of the Bull.  The Bull is a solid animal.  He is all but impossible to push against his will, so they can be pillars of strength to those around them.  Their stubbornness is legendary, but its not an absolute feature.  Taurans learn in much the same way they live.  Slowly and surely.  When a Taurus acquires wisdom, its a part of their makeup from that time on.  Until they learn to yield to others, Taurans can be very argumentative and stubborn.  Like the bull, Taurus natives can be sensual and very much at one with their bodies.

Cancer 22 June – 22 July. Two key words describing Cancer people are nurturing and understanding.  Cancers are soft and sentimental people.  On the inside, that is.  On the outside, they can be hard and protected.  Their sensitivity leaves them withdrawing into their shells.  Their crabby exterior can mask their sensitive hearts, and make them passionately defensive of those they love. Aries 21 March – 20 April. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.  It's character is about newness.  Aries natives are good at beginning things.  They are said to be young souls, but it is said that many ancient spirits take their birth under it's sign to enjoy lives marked by simplicity and youthful zest.  Aries can be forceful people.  Their willingness to 'ram' their way through situations can alienate those around them, if it's not softened by a bit of introspection and empathy.  Aries gets it's name from the Greek god of war.  It's impulsive and forceful nature can make the perfect ally for those in need of friends to rally to their aid.  Like, warriors, Aries natives prize the values of loyalty, honor, and keeping their word.  In spite of their warlike nature, Aries can be subtle and sensitive, like the poet-warriors of ancient Greece.

Leo 23 July – 23 August. Leos are known for two traits.  Their leadership and their creativity.  On top of this, Leos are usually driven and ambitious enough to accomplish their goals.  They usually love the spotlight, and will extend themselves to get into it.  Leos are passionate, both in romance and in their creative efforts.  Their take charge attitude can help them come to the aid of their friends and loved ones, but unless it's tempered with a self-control, Leos can overpower others around them.  When they've mastered themselves, they can be a real inspiration to those around them.  They tend to respond to things with action and movement, instead of with thoughts or feelings.  They usually have a strong sense of the practical that lets them act effectively. 

Libra 24 September – 23 October. Libra gets its name from the Greek word for scales.  The theme of a Libra's inner life and their relationships with others is always balance.  Librans hate unfairness, and will struggle with themselves to find the right thing to do.  This can leave them fickle and indecisive.   Libras can be homebodies.  They usually like curling up with a good book more than going out to exercise.  If they can maintain their health living out their lazy streak, Librans can mature into sober, thoughtful people.  While they may not be the best of leaders at times, Librans have the wisdom that allows them to lead the leaders, and express their wisdom in ways that help those around them.

Sagittarius 23 November – 21 December. The sign of Sagittarius is the centaur, the half-man, half-horse of ancient Greek myth.  They were legendary scholars and philosophers.  Like wild horses, Sagittarians love to roam.  Although they think about everything they experience, they don't become too attached to any one idea or way of seeing the world.  They tend to flow and to grow.  They are not likely to live according to any plan, but just to flow with the moment.  Freedom is important to Sagittarians, who like to be able to focus on whatever interests them in each moment.
